What if we turned this whole “talk to the manager” thing into a positive! Let’s ask to talk to the manager for PRAISES, not complaints!
My family knows that I’m one of “those” people. But it’s not what you think! I LOVE asking to talk to the manager. But I usually won’t, unless I have something REALLY GREAT to celebrate! So, how about we start a new trend? Let’s ask to talk to the manager because the person who served us was AWESOME!
From now thru the holidays, we’re counting down the 101 Days to Christmas 2020 with ideas on ways to show & share love with the people around us. This is one of my favorite ways so far!
It’s super simple – just say something nice!
If you’ve never asked to talk to a manager, the server or employee may be scared or hesitant, because that usually means “bad news.” So say something nice up front!
I try to let the person know when I ask that I’d love to tell the manager what AMAZING service they just gave! That way, you’re hopefully making their day … and the boss’ day, too!
Add a nice tip if you can!
If you’re at a restaurant and can leave a generous tip, go for it! So many people are said to “under tip,” it’ll make your positive chat with the manager even more of an extra blessing!
Smile & leave them with encouragement.
We all need encouragement. This year, 2020, has been SO hard for everyone, especially many friends in the restaurant and hospitality industry. That’s especially true here in Central Florida where I live. UGH… it’s been so hard! Which makes me think we all need more smiles and encouragement.
Seriously, with so many struggling with unemployment, fewer hours at work, falling behind on bills, etc … a smile and encouragement can make a difference. This person that YOU impact could go home with a smile on THEIR face, repeating the nice words you said, instead of hearing all the potential negative things they faced that day.
Let’s make “talking to the manager” a good thing!
Hey, maybe not everyone will jump on this train, but if you and I do this at least once, that’s TWO people, making a difference! And hopefully, making someone who is working super hard have a day go a little better.
Laughing thru life,
