Merry Christmas-in-July! Since it’s the 25th and we’re just 6 months away from ACTUAL Christmas, I figured why not? So I rounded up these 10 fun Christmas in July ideas to inspire you to have FUN! Listen: we’re in the middle of this crazy pandemic and life just seems heavy. So I’m thinking, let’s find any and every excuse to celebrate and enjoy the little things! To get us in the festive spirit, summer style, let’s start here!
10 Fun Ideas to celebrate Christmas in July!
1. Put on some Christmas music!
My 10 year old daughter and I literally did this last night and we were dancing in the kitchen to “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree!” SO fun!
If you have a smart speaker, even better! We asked Alexa on the Amazon Echo Show in our kitchent to “Play Christmas Music” and the party immediately followed! 🙂
2. Bake something!
Ok, I should have thought of a more Christmas-y recipe, but we had bananas that needed to get used, so chocolate chip banana bread mini loaves it was! (Plus, I hadn’t used our mini loaf pan in FOREVER, so that made it extra fun!)
3. Freeze Christmas-y ice cubes for breakfast!
We came across these last night and figured, why not? No need to wait another 5 months or so to enjoy little candy cane-shaped ice cubes in your water or juice!
This is just like the one we have (except ours is red!)
4. Watch a Christmas movie!
If you live near Sea World Orlando, they’re celebrating Christmas in July with “Flicks & Fireworks!” It’s a drive-in style movie (Christmas Vacation), plus fireworks & food trucks! Last night, they had Elf (wish we could’ve gone, but maybe we’ll be there tonight!)
5. Have a “Christmas dream session!”
What do you want to do this Christmas? Travel to see family (if it’s safe in the pandemic?) Get involved in volunteer opportunities? Surprise a single parent and their kids with a Chrismas tree? Now is a GREAT time to dream of what you want this Christmas to be and start taking action! After all, it’s just 152 days till Christmas!
6. Interact with the “Christmas story” on the Bible app!
This is SO cute! If you haven’t seen it, there’s a Bible app for kids and we’ve used it for years! When you open the story, it narrates for you, and then you can click on the images and see them come to life! In the Christmas Story one, you can tap on the angels to make them sing! I love it!
7. Download the “Santa Tracker” app!
After all, we’ll be using it in about 151 days or so, on Christmas Eve, when the big guy loads the sleigh & starts his journey! 😉
Download my favorite Santa Tracker app here! It’s the official Norad Santa Tracker radar, and the website says to come back on December 1st!
8. Write your Elf on the Shelf a letter!
He may just reply!
9. Surprise someone with a Christmas in July gift!
It could even just be a card & a peppermint candy cane, but I’m sure you’d make that person’s day! Extra peppermint brownie points if you send it to grandma & grandpa!
10. You didn’t think I’d forget to add peppermint mochas to this list, did you?!
HA! If you know me, you know I look forward to that 1st day when you can get holiday drinks at Starbucks! In the meantime, why not make our own at home! This recipe looks awesome!
Or, since I’m doing a #JulyWhole30, I’d love to try their peppermint mocha, but it’s seasonal. In the meantime, thouh, this cinnamon swirl one looks pretty good!
